I don't think anything Boyle says is as bad as telling someone that you've slept with their granddaughter, which wasn't funny for a start; maybe if it were as funny as Boyle's material the flak would have been a little lighter. Besides, he didn't lose his job, he resigned. Jonathan Ross got suspended for what, three weeks? Brand probably wouldn't have been fired, he just wanted to save what little face he could.
