cannabis is very healing. It is pure and simple. I suffered from depression since i was a teen, tried anti-depressants, pharmaceutical garbage, ick. Cannabis relaxes me, i am OK then. But yet the government makes it illegal and if i smoke it i am a "CRIMINAL". Beyond fucking stupid. ALL you asshats who live in the fucking past can suck my nut for all i care.

People who want to use crack are going to use it, no matter what the law is. Stanhope's point is that since addicts are going to exist anyway, ordinary people would be safer if these drugs were legal and regulated by the state governments. Drug dealers do not pay taxes and have no quality-control standards. Doctors and pharmacists do. Drug dealers can and will sell to anyone, including kids. Doctors and pharmacists cannot, without the parents' consent.
